Questions about reduce image size in kb
Will the file always hit the exact size?
The result is at or below your target, usually just under it. Quality is adjusted in small steps, so the exact byte count varies by image.
What if my target is too small?
If even the lowest quality is too large and resizing is allowed, the image is scaled down until it fits. If resizing is off, you get a clear message with the smallest size that was achievable.
Does 1 KB mean 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
This tool uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes, which is how most operating systems display file sizes.
